The new Mercedes G-Wagen is now one of the most loved cars for tuning. Many big and small tuning companies offer custom parts for it. You can get a widebody kit, new wheels, a special interior, or more engine power. Whatever you want, someone has already done it.
Some G-Class SUVs are made for off-road driving, others for city life, but a few are true works of art. One example is the Carlex G-Falcon, which we saw earlier this year.
Meet the 2024 Carlex G-Vintage: A New Look for the G 63
The same tuning company, Carlex Design, has turned the 2024 Mercedes-AMG G 63 into the G-Vintage. They first showed it a few months ago, but it wasn't ready. Now, it has entered limited production, and Carlex has released more pictures of it.
Retro Style Inspired by the 1970s
The Carlex G-Vintage has a strong 1970s look. It comes in bright colors and has chrome parts all around the body. It has 20-inch wheels that resemble the old Mercedes hubcaps from many years ago. The SUV also comes with white-wall tires to match the vintage style.
Color Options
Carlex offers nine special paint colors:
- Green Breeze
- Sand Dune
- Pink Glow
- Raspberry Punch
- Tangerine
- Champagne Fizz
- Lime Pop
- Ivory
- Noir
All these colors have white accents, and some parts have Carlex's signature. The Carlex Design logo can be seen on the grille, spare wheel cover, and other exterior parts. A pinstripe line adds extra vintage flair to the SUV.
The Interior Is Just as Special
Carlex is well-known for its beautiful custom interiors, and they gave the G-Vintage a complete makeover inside.
- The seats and trim are covered in vintage leather and Alcantara, with three color options.
- The cargo area in the back is also redone and includes wooden panels.
The result is a classic, stylish cabin that feels modern and luxurious.
More Power Under the Hood
Carlex usually doesn't focus much on the engine, but they added more power this time.
- The G-Vintage now has 805 horsepower.
- It also has 752 lb-ft (1,020 Nm) of torque.
- The top speed is 162 mph (260 km/h).
This means it looks retro but drives like a modern performance SUV.
Pricing and Availability
If you're wondering about the cost of this SUV, you probably can't afford it. Carlex didn't share the price, but it's likely costly.
The first G-Vintage model is being built in Poland, and deliveries will begin next March.
So, what do you think? Is this one of the coolest versions of the 2024 Mercedes-AMG G 63, or do you prefer something else like the elegant Yachting Edition?
