BMW M2 Akrapovic Exhaust Upgrade

15 Apr, 2025 1
G87 BMW M2 with Akrapovic titanium exhaust

The G87 BMW M2 Coupe comes with a solid exhaust sound from the factory. But if you want a deeper, sharper growl, there's a better option. By replacing the stock valved exhaust with a titanium system from Akrapovic, the M2's engine sound becomes even more exciting.

Installed by All Stars Motorsport

Even though Akrapovic makes the exhaust, this install was done by All Stars Motorsport. They serve three European countries and offer the Akrapovic Evolution Line titanium exhaust for the G87 M2 at 6,443.39 euros (about USD 7,110 at current rates).

Legal and Easy to Install

This system is made in Slovenia, where Akrapovic is based. It's ECE-approved, which means it's street-legal in Europe. The setup includes titanium pipes and carbon-fiber tailpipes. It's a cat-back exhaust, which bolts directly onto the stock system. The package also comes with all the hardware needed for installation.

Small Power Boost and Big Weight Drop

While it won't make a massive difference in horsepower, it does offer some dyno-tested gains.

  • 5.9 PS or about 5.8 horsepower
  • 13.5 Nm or about 10 lb-ft of torque
  • Weight savings: 7.3 kg, which is 16.1 lbs

Sound Upgrade: Hear the Difference

Even though installing the system takes some cutting and wiring, it's not hard to do. The sound is where you notice the change. A video comparison at the end shows how much better the Akrapovic exhaust sounds versus the stock one.

Other Performance Upgrades Available

All Stars Motorsport offers more ways to upgrade your G87 M2's performance. These include:

  • Dinan carbon air intake
  • Scorpion sport catalytic downpipes
  • Mishimoto intake manifold
  • Mishimoto intercooler
  • Dinan panel air filters
  • TTE 940 hybrid turbos — priced at 7,529.99 euros or about USD 8,305

G87 M2 Performance Specs (Pre-Facelift)

The M2 shown in the video is a pre-2025 Euro-spec model, which means:

  • 460 PS (453 hp)
  • 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque

Newer 2025 Model Gets a Power Boost

BMW updated the M2 for 2025 with even more power:

  • 480 PS (473 hp)
  • 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) torque (for automatic only)
  • Manual versions still have 550 Nm (406 lb-ft)

Price Comparison: Europe vs. U.S.

  • In Germany, the M2 starts at 76,600 euros (about USD 84,490)
  • In the U.S., it starts at $64,900 (not including destination fees)

M2 CS Coming in 2025

BMW plans to launch the G87 M2 CS in August 2025 as a 2026 model. Rumors say it could have:

  • 523 horsepower (like the M4 Competition xDrive)
  • Rear-wheel drive with a torque-converter automatic
  • M xDrive AWD may arrive later
  • BMW is expected to end G87 M2 production in July 2029.
