It took Novitec a couple of years to create a special version of the Ferrari 296 GTB, and they have finally done it. The tuned model was shown last week, and now, we get to see it fully dressed in black, thanks to the aftermarket specialist's social media posts.
Looking like a true Versione Speciale (VS) from Ferrari, this Novitec Ferrari 296 GTB is tuning done right. It comes with a full carbon fiber body kit that looks like it was built at the Maranello factory in Italy. It also has more power under the hood.
New Look with Carbon Fiber Upgrades
In terms of looks, the supercar has been updated with:
- A new front splitter
- A matching rear diffuser
- Stronger side skirts
- New mirror caps
- Add-ons around the engine air intakes
- A stylish ducktail spoiler
These upgrades give it a bold and sporty makeover.
The car shown in the pictures is finished in full black, rides on Y-spoke alloy wheels with Ferrari logos, and features yellow brake callipers for a nice contrast. The cabin is a mix of black leather and suede, with a few yellow accents to match the exterior style.
More Power from Novitec Tuning
Novitec also offers an optional exhaust system for the Ferrari 296 GTB. It comes with active valves to make the sound deeper and sportier. They can also tweak the turbo inlets and install sports catalytic converters.
The 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo engine produces 37 more horsepower (38 PS / 28 kW) thanks to these changes. The plug-in hybrid setup now delivers 856 hp (868 PS / 638 kW).
Performance and Speed
Sadly, Novitec did not say how fast their modified 296 GTB is. But it is slightly quicker than the stock version. The regular Ferrari 296 GTB:
- Goes from 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) in 2.9 seconds
- Hits 124 mph (200 kph) from a standstill in 7.3 seconds
- Has a top speed of over 205 mph (330 kph)
The 296 GTB produces 818 hp (830 PS / 610 kW) from the factory without tuning. The gasoline engine can rev up to 8,500 rpm, and with the 7.45 kWh battery fully charged, it can drive 16 miles (25 km) in full electric mode—perfect for short city drives.
According to Ferrari, the 296 GTB has a dry weight of 3,261 pounds (1,479 kg) and returns around 36.8 US mpg (6.4 l/100 km).
About the Ferrari 296 GTB
In production since 2021, the Ferrari 296 GTB shares many parts with the Ferrari SF90. It comes in two styles: coupe and roadster. It is Ferrari's first model with a six-cylinder engine since the famous Dino 246, although the Dino did not have Ferrari badges.
Its closest competitors are the McLaren Artura and the more powerful Lamborghini Revuelto, which replaced the Aventador.
