AC Schnitzer Enhances BMW XM with 740 HP

The BMW XM is not the most beautiful SUV on the road but stands out. Now, AC Schnitzer, a famous BMW tuner, has given it a stylish and powerful makeover.

BMW XM Gets a Performance Boost from AC Schnitzer

AC Schnitzer has upgraded many parts of the XM, starting with the engine. The stock BMW XM has a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 plug-in hybrid that makes 644 hp (653 ps / 480 kW) and 590 lb-ft of torque (800 Nm). This allows it to go from 0–60 mph in just 4.1 seconds.

But AC Schnitzer takes things further. The power output increases by 97 hp, producing 740 hp (751 ps / 552 kW). Torque is also boosted by 74 lb-ft, for 664 lb-ft (900 Nm). That’s even more horsepower than the XM Label, which has 738 hp but the same torque.

AC Schnitzer didn't share the new 0–60 time, but this upgraded version should be a few tenths of a second quicker, possibly close to the XM Label's time of 3.6 seconds.

Lower Ride Height and Better Cornering

The tuner also added a new spring kit, which lowers the XM by 0.8 to 1 inch (20–25 mm). This helps the SUV corner better, although it may reduce ride comfort slightly.

In addition, there's a spacer kit that widens the track by 0.4 inches (10 mm) on each side. This gives the XM a sportier stance and helps it work with many wheels—including the factory ones.

New Exclusive Wheels for BMW XM

AC Schnitzer offers special wheels made just for large BMW crossovers. These are called the AC5 Flowforming alloys. They come in bi-tone or glossy black, double-spoke designs and pentagon-shaped hub caps.

• Front wheels: 10.5 x 23 inches with 295/35 tires
• Rear wheels: 11.5 x 23 inches with 335/30 tires

These wheels improve both looks and performance.

Subtle But Sporty Body Kit

AC Schnitzer didn't go overboard with the body kit. It includes:

• A front splitter with side wings
• Rear diffuser fins
• A roof-mounted wing

These upgrades not only add style—they also boost downforce for better high-speed stability. Buyers can get each part separately.

To finish things off, the tuner added custom emblems in black or silver and a few special interior details.
