Lamborghini is growing its hybrid car family. After showing the Revuelto and Urus SE plug-in hybrids, the brand is preparing a new car to replace the Huracan.
This upcoming hybrid supercar is expected to be called the Lamborghini Temerario. It will debut at Monterey Car Week on August 16.
This plug-in hybrid model will have over 900 horsepower (over 887 hp or 662 kW). It uses three electric motors and a twin-turbo V8 engine. The car can also run quietly on electric power alone for a few miles.
Huracan Production Ends Soon
While the new hybrid model is coming, Lamborghini is also wrapping up the production of the Huracan. You can't place a new order anymore because Lamborghini stopped taking them a while ago.
If you want a Huracan, your only option is the used car market. Luckily, many versions are available, including rare and limited editions.
This Huracan Tecnica Has a Supercharger Upgrade
You can't buy the Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica shown in the picture. But you can upgrade your own Huracan to become just like it.
VF Engineering, a US-based tuning company, added a supercharger kit to this Huracan Tecnica. This upgrade increases the power to 850 horsepower (862 ps or 634 kW) and 625 lb-ft of torque (847 Nm).
The complete upgrade kit costs about $40,000.
The Upgrade Is Reversible
Are you worried that this upgrade will hurt your car's value? VF Engineering says its supercharger kit is fully reversible, so you can return the car to its original state anytime.
Also, you can repaint your Huracan in matte black for an extra $3,000. That's not bad, considering the Huracan Tecnica is worth about $300,000 today.
Stock Specs of the Huracan Tecnica
The stock Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica already has strong performance. According to Lamborghini, it makes 640 horsepower (640 ps or 470 kW) and 565 Nm of torque.
This model is rear-wheel drive and comes with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. It reaches 325 kph (top speed) and can go from 0 to 100 kph (0-62 mph) in just 3.2 seconds.
The Huracan Tecnica is a rear-wheel-drive version of the Huracan EVO with a touch of the STO model.
Track-Focused Design and Features
Lamborghini revealed the Huracan Tecnica a little over two years ago. They said it was made to be more track-ready than the standard EVO.
Key features include:
- A roof snorkel
- A new front bumper
- Updated side window shapes
- 20-inch wheels inspired by the Vision GT
- A carbon fiber engine cover
- A vertical rear window
- A redesigned rear bumper
- Hexagonal exhaust pipes
Lamborghini originally priced the Huracan Tecnica at $250,000 in the US. Today, it's worth closer to $300,000.
