The BMW XM is a bold SUV but hasn't won many fans. It's the second standalone model from BMW's high-performance M Division, after the legendary M1. But many people think it's one of the least attractive BMWs ever made.
Even so, the XM is still popular among wealthy buyers. Some owners want their SUVs to stand out even more. That's where tuning companies come in. One of them, Larte Design, has been working on the XM for a while now. Their newest version gives the XM a flashy update but may not improve its looks.
Label Red Brings Bold Red Details
The bright red details on this BMW XM come from the factory. It's a special version called the Label Red; the red accents are part of the package.
You can see the red color in many places:
- Around the kidney grille
- On the front splitter
- Around the windows
- On the doors
- On the front and rear quarter panels
- On the rear diffuser
The red trim also appears on the 23-inch aftermarket wheels, paired with darker tones for extra contrast.
Larte Design Adds 16 Carbon Fiber Parts
Larte Design didn't stop with red accents. They added many new parts to make the XM look even sportier. In total, there are 16 custom carbon fiber parts, including:
- A new front chin spoiler
- Trim for the wheel arches
- A more aggressive-looking hood
- A roof-mounted wing
- A tailgate spoiler
- A new rear diffuser with brake lights and exhaust cutouts
- Extra styling pieces in other areas
These changes give the XM a bold, customized appearance. Whether or not that look is better depends on personal taste.
No Interior Changes Revealed Yet
So far, Larte Design hasn’t shared any images of the interior. That likely means the cabin remains stock or unchanged. However, there's still a chance some updates were made inside. If you’ve seen any interior photos of this modified XM, feel free to share them.
XM Label Red: Big Power, Big Numbers
Under the hood, the BMW XM Label Red packs serious performance. It combines a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 with an electric motor. Together, they deliver:
- 738 horsepower (748 PS / 550 kW)
- 737 lb-ft of torque (1,000 Nm)
This powerful hybrid setup can do 0–60 mph in just 3.7 seconds. Top speed is:
- 180 mph (290 kph) with the M Driver's Package
- 155 mph (250 kph) without it
How Does It Compare to Other BMW M SUVs?
BMW also makes two other high-performance SUVs: the X5 M and X6 M. These models are a bit slower and less powerful than the XM Label Red. They have:
- 617 horsepower (626 PS / 460 kW)
- 553 lb-ft of torque (750 Nm)
They go from 0–60 mph in about 3.8 seconds, just one-tenth of a second behind the XM.
Even though the XM Label Red is faster and stronger, many people prefer the X5 M because it looks better and still delivers amazing performance.
